General Report

The Point of Sale system providers have not yet notified DSC that they are ready to train the staff.  What can be done ahead of time by the DSC staff has been done.

The financial information for the first half of the year is almost finished, but due to the family death was not available to the board.  There is still a significant amount of money available for cash flow and most bills for the reset have been paid.  Sales continue to be strong.

Nothing has yet been done on investigating incorporation as a cooperative.  James and Nelson will work on this in the coming month.

Nelson will pursue the resurfacing of the parking lot with the landlord now that the reset is finished.

No water came into the building during the recent storms.  The Coop was without power for a while, but James, Nordstrom and Nelson stayed to watch over the store until power was restored and all electrical equipment was working again.

Polensky moved and Mueller seconded the motion to approve the minutes as circulated with the correction of one spelling error.  The motion passed unanimously.

Committee Action

The Outreach Committee will meet soon to plan the Energy Fair activities on August 11and 12.  Stravers will be asked to make a contact with the Midweek to publicize the reset.  Planning should begin soon for the October Anniversary/Grand Reopening Celebration.  Non-board members need to be involved in this planning.  Personnel Committee should meet sometime during August.  The Finance Committee will work on setting up a Financial Workshop to educate the board sometime later this fall.

Other Business

Krajewski asked if DSC had ever made contact with Heritage Farm on Bolcum Road.  They have an education center at the farm and are a source for organic meats.

Nezrick moved and Mueller seconded a motion to adjourn at 7:48 p.m.  Motion carried.
